What are peoples opinions on the NHT Absolute Tower

Hi, I am looking to spend approximately $1000 on speakers and from a few reviews I have read online the NHT Absolute towers look like a decent option. Although they seem to get great feedback from reviews on home theatre sites I haven't seen them mentioned much, if at all in the forums. I am getting a Rythmik FV15HP to go with it and an AVR which I am still in the process of deciding on. Thanks in advance for any help.

I think NHT speakers sound great. Their frequency responses are usually pretty great. The Absolute Zero bookshelf had the best FR ever measured by HTM: +/- 0.9dB from 200Hz-10kHz.

They are just not as popular as B&W, Revel, KEF...

Yeah they seem really good value. I am kind of tossing up between them and ascend acoustics speakers

The owner of Ascend is a super cool guy. :D

I too like NHT.

Which Ascend model did you have in mind? :D

I really like NHT speakers. I don't currently own any but I'm considering using them for my HT system. The room acoustics are odd (it is really more of a family room than a HT room) and I think that sealed speakers will help since I'm going to have to shove them pretty near a wall. NHT speakers are also easy to try out since they'll pay for shipping both ways if you don't like them.

Interesting Info

Some interesting info:

1) Those NHT towers were actually based off the bookshelf speakers. I guess the bookshelves were really good, so they made a complimentary tower. Usually, the towers come first and the bookshelf model is based on the towers. I believe I read that in a review at HTM.

2) Nice choice on the Rythmik. I recently purchased a B-stock F15HP and it is large and in charge. I actually went to the Rythmik shop to purchase it and got to talk with the owner for about 1/2 hour. He runs Ascends at home, so just wanted to throw that out there.

I doubt you can go wrong either way. Standard advice: Go listen to as many speakers as you can that are withing your price range.
