What am I doing wrong?

When I adjust the volume of my speakers to 75db each with a steady test tone everything works right until I get to the subwoofer and I hear nothing. My Audessy sets the sub at 0.5db.

How do I get my sub (SVS PB2000) set? What's a good volume and do I set with the sub volume control?

Sounds like you need to change the settings of your AVR to allow signals from R & L to get to sub.
Most likely need to designate speakers as small.
What AVR?

AVR is Yamaha RV A1050 and I'm using the LFE out to the sub.

When I play music the sub reacts but not loud enough. Have go into the AV settings and in incease sub volume to 3-4db level. Should I be using the subs volume control?

Speakers are already set to small at 80hz. Subs volume knob is set at 12 o'clock.

Certainly, go in and increase the sub’s level, either by the receiver or sub itself, or both, to get the bass level up to where it should be. Nothing at all wrong with that.

Since you own a Yamaha AVR, don't you mean YPAO instead Audessey? Also, you should allow your receiver's auto cal to set your levels. The auto cal is trying to match the levels of all the speakers in your system, including your sub. If YPAO is setting the sub level at 0.5, that means you might have had the gain on your sub kind of low. For example, if you turn up the gain on your PB 2000, YPAO might set the sub level on your receiver low like -3.0. I read that between -3.0 to -0 is where you want to sub level to be in the receiver.

Also, you might have your sub in null spot in your room. I think you should experiment with placement to get the best possible response.
