Wharfedale Evo 30, Centre, 8

Yesterday I went and had a listen to these speakers. I only took two rock CDs, played some Pixies and some Placebo, and I was totally amazed.

They were driven by a Yamaha RX-V750, and especially in Pure Direct mode, they were excellent. I don't have many reference points but to me they sounded as acurate as I've ever heard a speaker sound. 5 channel stereo was even better, the centre speaker adding extra presense and making up for less-than-ideal placement.

There was also a Tannoy sub but honestly, it is not needed at all. Not for music anyway - it's just there for couch-shaking LFE's.

I like the Wharfedale Evolution line. Nice speakers at a nice price. Great bang for your buck...as they say. I find them to be a very pleasant listening experience.

But I love the Opus series much more. I happen to own the Opus 2 and the Opus Center Channel
