I plan on getting new speakers and a reciever when i get back from Iraq in a few months. So i cant listen to any speakers just yet. I figure the primus speakers seem like they would be okay based on price. Has anyone got an opinion of them? i will have to buy them a few at a time and i plan on starting with the center speaker. I also plan on purchasing a Yamaha HTR 5790, but that can wait for awhile. I'll definatly be listening to the speakers before i buy them. Im gonna start the journey at circuit city and then go to all the other stores that carry the stuff.

I currently have Primus 150's for surrounds and 250's for fronts. There not bad for the money for a first time system. Its all preferance though you have to go and listen a lot and then hear them set up in youre home. Thats the only way to know if you like them.

Ya, im just gonna have to wait and actually listen before i make up my mind. I just want to know if someone had some and hated them or anything. They are in my price range, but i'm still gonna do plenty of listening before buying.

the only issue on the 150's is size. they are big and boxey and weigh almost thirteen pounds, so don't plan on using the $ 11 speaker braces from Walmart to keep them up on the sheetrock. these are actually intended to be a small bookshelf speaker, not a bose-alike microbox.

that being said, I use (and am extremely pleased with) a set of Primus 150's for surrounds in the bedroom set-up (sitting on a couple of art-deco shelves that I picked up unfinished for about five bucks each at Walmart. they do a great backfill for the Alpha 20 bookshelves I have for fronts and the Alpha center.

they sound great, just be prepared to deal with the beef. ;)
