Westinghouse hdmi problems

I'm kind of a newbie and need some help.
I have a westinghouse 42" lcd monitor LVM42-w2 and just got a new BD player.
With this set up I can not get any audio or video signal into the monitor with my HDMI cable. The only thing i get is a green screen. When I change the BD player output to component it works fine.
My question is this.
Are there different hdmi signals?
In my manual the hdmi input is listed as "HDMI(R)-HDCP + L/R AUDIO".
The BD player output is "HDMI 1.3a, x.v. color"

Are these compatable formats? I have hooked up the BD player to other tv's with the same hdmi cable and they work together.
With the monitor I have when it does not see an incoming signal it goes into a hibernation mode and the screen is always black. With it having a green screen and not hibernating it tells me there is some sort of signal being received. What am I doing wrong.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure of your exact problem, but I had the same TV for about 2.5 years and my HDMI input went bad. There were a lot of bad pixels when using the input. What I did for a while was use a HDMI to DVI converter. DVI doesn't carry audio so you'd have to use a seperate audio cable to your TV if you're using your TV's speakers.

I bought mine from best buy and had an extended warranty. A 3rd party tech came out and looked at it and said they couldn't get a replacement mother board so I got a new TV from BB. If your TV is still under warranty, I'd start calling to get the TV replaced.

Thanks!

Thanks for the 2cents sarg.:) I finally got a hold of westinghouse and they are trying to diagnose the problem through various emails. If this turns out to be a case similar to yours I hope I get the same type of service.
Thanks again.

I have a Westy in my bedroom. I get constant audio drop-outs if I use the HDMI input, but audio via RCA inputs for component and composite video work fine. The same is true for ATSC broadcasts. I solved the problem by adding a receiver to handle audio. However, that's not for everyone. It used to be Olevia, but now it seems Vizio is the best of the bargain brands. Westy needs to get their quality control issues resolved. I would hate to see them drop down the levels of Ilo, Sceptre and Polaroid.

I woudl think that first and foremost the issue woudl be related to the signal exiting the BD player. Make sure CEC control is off, anything "high-speed" is off, and anything related to Deep Color or xvYCC is disabled where available. For audio, make sure the player is converting everything to PCM as that's all that Westinghouse is likely to understand.
