That's fantastic, Jamie! Thanks for sharing that with us. I hope that you get to go home soon or have them out for a visit. It's tough to be away from family like that when you're used to them being around.

Happy anniversary, brother.

Congratulations to both Billy and Jamie! These days it's not easy. The outside pressures take a toll on every aspect of life.

I know what you Jamie about visiting the group. I don't have a lot of friends anymore... just don't have the time and when I do, I want to be with my wife and daughter and when they're out, I just want to sit quietly and enjoy a bit of solitude and that's simply not condusive to crowd of pals. I have my small handful of buds that I grab a beer with but I just don't and can't make the time like I used to and truthfully many of my pals are in the same boat. I can always come and visit my pals here though... when I've got 5 minutes between meetings or when I "check out" for an hour and stare at my walls in my office. You sorda got your friends here 24/7.

Anyway... congratulations to you. I know it sucks being away on such an occasion, but that fact that you'd rather be home rather than relishing the fact that you don't "have to deal with" your anniversary is a nice change and tells me you're a good man who's willing to sacrifice for his family.

Finest regards.

Bill and Jamie,
You guys have surpassed, in years, with one marriage what I failed to do in the combination of two.
Congrats to both of you. I don't think enough credit is given to a successful marriage. You and your wives should be proud the accomplishment.

Enjoy.

I have one brother who has been happily married for 13 years, and another brother who has been trapped in a soul-sucking marriage for over 12 years. Sometimes perseverance isn't the answer - however, the unhappy couple has two beautiful kids, so there is a huge silverlining for that marriage.

However, the fact that Jamie misses his wife and kids tells me that his marriage is far more like the first brother and less like the second. That's awesome, IMO.

I can relate to both your brother's. Having endured a horrible first marriage, it nearly ruined me. I stayed in that relationship for 6yrs for the sake of my daughter, but in the end, I couldn't do it any more. I feel for him because most troubled relationships contiue to drag on because kids are involved and getting out(divorce) is not cheap.
