Class action lawsuit should be in effect soon!
What I worry about on these keyloggers are the one whom use these laptops to log onto private stuff like bank accounts, e-mails ect.....

I do think it is wise if anyone whom purchases a new computer needs to format the hard-drive and install their own OS.

I done this with all my pc's except my Asus G60, which I may go on ahead and do since it seems like a lot of Asus bios Bull-crap is on there. Plus I do not care to overclock the CPU or RAM, so I dont care to loose that crap.

I feel bad for owners of Samsung Lappys. Go GET'EM!!

If Samsung is doing it, who else might be doing it? If I understand the article correctly, running a scan will find it. If so, for how long did Samsung think they would get away with this? Nefarious...and stupid!

Samsung makes computers?

And people BUY them?

Geez, I've got enough headaches with their A/V gear, why would I want to go that route with them?

Didn't they also just get busted for price-fixing on TV's?

Maybe I'm not such a big Samsung fan anymore.

It's not a keylogger:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/31/samsung-reportedly-installing-keylogger-software-on-r525-privac/

Samsung's official Korean language blog, Samsung Tomorrow, has a posted an update calling the findings false. According to Samsung, the confusion arose when the VIPRE security software mistakenly identified Microsoft's Slovene language folder ("SL") as Starlogger, which Sammy was able to recreate from an empty c:\windows\SL folder (see image above). So yeah, move along, it's much ado about nothing -- the R525 and R540 laptops are perfectly safe.

From Engadget update 3:
Even StarLogger has stepped up and confirmed the good news; furthermore, it'll be changing the way it structures things so as not to set off any more false-positives.
Lol, now that everyone know the sure fire sign that StarLogger is installed (otherwise fully hidden) they must hide it in different place :D
