Weird sound issue on Avia DVD set up.

I really wasn't sure where to post this so if I am in the wrong area I am all ears.

I have a Pioneer VSX-82TXS, I was using Avia's set up disc and noticed when I get to the test that plays sound between the surround speakers and the Sub-woofer. When the Sub switches on the front (all, center and Right-Left) it is very quiet. When it plays the rear it sounds normal (louder). The rear speakers are Venturi BIC's and the fronts are...well are not lets just say that. The center channel is also a Venturi BIC's. So to me that rules out the type of speaker. Remember I mentioned before with the fronts the Sub-woofer is quiet, the rears it is loud. And the sound does all sound equal when it switches between the 6 channel s (without the Sub). Also when I play the set up in the receiver itself they all sound equal as well.

So if I confused anyone I'll wrap it up in a nutshell. When the set-up DVD plays the switch between the individual 6 speakers and the Sub-woofer it is quieter on the fronts vs. the rears.

Any ideas?

Did you run the auto calibration feature your unit has?
Assuming you've done that.
I would check my speaker connections, and make sure there isn't a mix up.

Just thought of another possibility.
Do you have the fronts set to small, and the other speakers set to big?

I have used the auto set up but was a bit disappointed in the surround sound. I figured it had to do with the different types of speakers. But you do bring up a good point. I will run the auto set-up again and see if the issue changes. Speakers seem to be connected correctly otherwise though.
