Weird noise when system powered down

I have a B&K 200.7 amp and an AVM 30 (Anthem) processor, cables are all River cable, and using their XLR for the connection from pro to amp. This is the second processor and this happened with both, so I can eliminate that as being the source of the problem. When I power down the system, there is a strange noise only in the center channel (sounds like wind blowing through the tweeter). When I power up, the noise is gone!! Does anyone have an idea as to what this could be?

Noise in center

Sounds like you are leaving the amp on and turning the processor on/off. To prevent this problem, turn the amp off. Your processor probably has a 12V trigger that can perform this function. Many power centers also have sequenced power on/off outlets to turn the amp on a few seconds after the processor turns on.

noise

I actually have the trigger hooked up. I thought that maybe that was causing the noise so I turned the power switch off on the amp. It didn't work. It's really strange.

When did this start? Something new, or been with these components?
Try turning the volume all the way off before power down, see what happens.

Similar problem with sub...

A while back, I had a similar problem with my sub. It would produce this hum when the system was powered off but would go away instantly when the receiver was turned on. I assume that the problem was caused by interference because when I replaced the cable with one of higher quality (more shielding), the hum went away.

I don't know if your problem could be the result of interference or not...your cables seem to be of a higher quality then my sub cable was and the sound you describe doesn't sound like something that would be caused by interference. Something to check, though.
