I have a Monster Surge Protector (Powercenter AV 800G),and one of my Sonos Amps which is connected to the surge protector won't power on (no lights on in front and not recognized in Sonos apps) unless my receiver (Marantz NR1603) is on (receiver is also using the powerstrip). The moment I turn my receiver on the lights on the Sonos go on and it is recognized in the sonos apps. I also have a XBOX connected to the powerstrip and it does not have the same issue. I have another sonos amp that is connected directly to the wall outlet and it works fine, as does this sonos amp if I connect it to the wall outlet. But with only two wall outlets and one used by the powerstrip, and the other one sonos amp - one would have to be on the powerstrip. Any ideas on whats going on?

Please link a manual - I can't find anything on the model #.

Please read your instructions. I think this is the part that is relevant to your issue.

"You must connect an electronic device that draws sufficient power in operational
mode to activate GreenPower switched outlets. If you do not, the GreenPower
switched outlets will not deliver power to connected equipment"

In other words you unit is operating as intended. If it is not what you want then you will need to purchase a different power strip.

...or move the Sonos to another outlet on the power thingie that isn't controlled by a master unit (seems the avr is plugged into the master outlet). My smart power strips have outlets both controlled and uncontrolled at least....

thanks! yes, I should have read the manual for the powerstrip ... there was a switch in the front to turn off green power mode … and now everything works fine
