Weird connection on sub.

Alright so i recently got my hands on a peculiar subwoofer. It has no RCA inputs, only a preamp input which I believe to be a 6 pin DIN cable. Its a kliptsch Pro Media model. Can someone help me hook it up to my reciever? I have the sub cable with ether the single or red white outputs. I was thinking a cable similar to this

Can you get a wiring diagram on line or from Klipsch?

There is no standard for the pins. The cable you show, I'm certain is not the right one.

You might be able to locate the input pins, by touching each pin with a small metal handled screw driver and see which ones make the sub buzz when it is on. That will tell you which are the inputs. Then you could make up a lead.

Your other option is to take the sub apart, and see where the connections go, and them change it over to RCA sockets.

Its got that connector because its made to go with a set of computer speakers...and your probably best just getting something made to go with a receiver specifically.

That explains all the pins. So the sub has power amplifiers for the speakers as well.

That sub will be no use to him.

+1 What he said. You shouldn't reuse this sub with other speakers

+2 Don't even bother. That is a pro media sub designed to work with it's matching speakers. I wouldn't even attempt to hook that up to a HT/Stereo.

well the reason i wanted to use it is because i got it for practically nothing. the speakers started on fire for the last person who had it but the sub is perfectly fine. i might try changing it over to rca's other wise i think if i could figure out the end, someone on here had a pictured tutorial of how they switched it to rca red whites

There is a reason you got it for practically nothing. ;) Hopefully "practically nothing" means the cost of gas to pick it up.

You don't know the sub is fine. It set the last set of speakers on fire. If that is the case the unit must have severe DC off set and be very dangerous.

You obviously have no service experience and so you should dump that sub off at the nearest recycling center.

That sub might have cost nothing to pick up but how much will it cost you when your home catches fire?
