It's been about 9 years since I listened to Weird all. I used to love his stuff.

Eventually I grew out of gag music altogether (thank god).

I Downloaded his new CD (Don't B*tch) and some of these songs are hilarious. It's not something I'd listen to daily, but it's catchy, and really witty. Best thing about his music is he doesn't swear or use vulgarity, which makes doing a parody MUCH harder.

Notable songs:

-White and Nerdy
-Canadian Idiot (Personal Favorite, Written and Sung in the style of "American Idiot [duh] by Greenday).
-I'll Sue Ya (Written and sung in the style of "Killing in the name" By Rage against the Machine).

EDIT: I had to post the lyrics for "Canadian Idiot". They're Amazing.

Don't wanna be a Canadian idiot
Don't wanna be some beer swillin' hockey nut
And do I look like some frostbitten hose-head?
I never learned my alphabet from A to Zed

They all live on donuts and moose meat
And they leave the house without packin' heat
Never even bring their guns to the mall
And you know what else is too funny?
Their stupid Monopoly money
Can't take 'em seriously at all

Well maple syrup and snow's what they export
They treat curling just like it's a real sport
They think their silly accent is so cute
Can't understand a thing they're talkin' aboot

Sure they got their national health care
Cheaper meds, low crime rates and clean air
Then again well they got Celine Dion
Eat their weight in Kraft macaroni
And dream of drivin' a Zamboni
All over Saskatchewan

Don't wanna be a Canadian idiot
Won't figure out their temperature in Celsius
See the map, they're hoverin' right over us
Tell you the truth, it makes me kinda nervous

Always hear the same kind of story
Break their nose and they'll just say "sorry"
Tell me what kind of freaks are that polite?
It's gotta mean they're all up to somethin'
So quick, before they see it comin'
Time for a pre-emptive strike!

Folks,
Haha! Oh man, good old Weird Al, yeah he's still around. I used to be really big into this music in Junior High, but have found it hard to really listen all that much anymore, kind of like what Sheep said. I think I still have his album Polka Party, and Even Worse.

I just read about this album a few weeks ago in the news. Apparently Weird Al also has a MySpace.com page. It's linked off of his official website, weirdal.com. Kind of funny really. You can listen to a couple of the new songs from the album there.

Thanks Sheep for sharing the lyrics to the Canadian song. It sure is fun to tease a Canadian as long as they are ok with it. I have had several very good friends who are Canadians, and they are some of the most fun and interesting people I have ever met!

I had a roommate once when I was living in Switzerland who was Canadian, from Saskatchewan, it was winter at the time, and would always refer to his knit hat as a Tuque, or however you spell it. In fact, I am surprised that wasn't in that song. He did talk about his Kraft dinner often, and loved hockey. And yes, he did say "Aboot" instead of about, and "Soh-rry" instead of sorry. Oh, yes, and he did call me Hoser all the time too. So it's not just stereotying, it is real!

Oh yeah, these things exist for a reason. They're true. I say the word eh 100 times a day, eh? I haven't eaten craft dinner for quite sometime, but I do crave it. We don't say aboot unless someone is expecting to say it. I say sorry, don't know about soh-rry, or soory. Hoser is a great word that should be used world wide... you hoser. I am a hockey nut (I made the hockey thread, remember?).

Sheep,
Haha! You Hoser! Take off eh? Oh man, I actually forgot about "eh". But yeah, he said that too. Quick question about Kraft Dinner, isn't that basically the equivalent of the Kraft Mac & Cheese here in the States? Or is it something better? I have a hard time with Smack & Sneeze as I like to call it, but my kids - oh man, there's nothing better to them. They snarf it up like its going out of style. Me, I have to add stuff to it just to manage to get it down. I've put tuna and peas, or salsa, or extra cheddar cheese, or even chili in it, which actually is not bad. Chili mac is pretty good, if you have some decent chili that is.
So, if you are a hockey nut, which team do you like the best? Which player too? I am not a sports fan at all, but it is fun to hear others get excited about it. (am I getting too far off topic on that?)

Mac and Cheese is the same, yes. There is many different versions in Canada, some using white cheese, and different style noodles. Ketchup goes good with it.

Well, I live in British Columbia, so I'd hope I was a Canucks fan. For those who don't understand Canada's love for hockey, I'll try to explain it. The Local economy in BC is dependent on the Canucks. If they loose, everyone is sad and people eat away they're sorrow: Desert shops win.

If the Canucks win, everyone gets piss drunk, party's, or goes to a bar: Liquor stores and pubs win.

It's complex. They affect other things as well, but it's over my head.

It's my thread, get as far off topic as you want. "Take off" is a great saying.
