I originally was an idiot and put the title as we need a knew speaker. Guess I needed some sleep... I wondered why no one commented...

I really think we need a new sticky (or less stickies and more structured information)... They should encompass allot of the things I read over and over again... I think people have accomplished allot of things in other stickies, but I dont think any one is consistant, nor complete. I think we need to choose some things that need to be said and we got to pull it together.

Then we should talk about how to audition speakers, including how to listen... its really important, because people dont know how to listen to speakers, since their whole life has revolved around cheap clock radios, boomboxes, and cheap speakers. This should mention that lower volumes are very important in auditioning, and what to expect and watch out for in auditioning... also that home auditioning for higher end equipment should be provided.
Speaker Cable, and a link to the page and articles available on the main site that deals with it... Its time we cut the BS, and call these guys out for what they are... Snake oil sales man.
I also beleive we should talk about fundimentals on how high end speakers and equipment perform, including how they break (since this is unique and different then lowend equipment). We should talk about how to avoid these issues (amps and impediance), watts and volume levels. How high end speakers dont distort when they get loud, so its hard to tell their loud, so be carefull, etc..
Lastly we should talk about how to choose a system... refer to the main articles for system recommendations. Yet also point out that a large population of people around here beleive that $1000 on two speakers is better investment then $1000 on a 5.1 system...
