Hi all,

I'm looking into an inexpensive player which would play 7.1 WAV or FLAC files, audio only, and output 7.1 PCM (no conversion).

The WD TV media player looks very attractive, but I cannot find in the documentation if it supports 7.1 WAV/FLAC.

Has anyone here tried this option with .wav or .flac files?

According to the specs, it plays the following audio files

Audio - MP3, WAV/PCM/LPCM, WMA, AAC, FLAC, MKA, AIF/AIFF, OGG, Dolby Digital, DTS . I'm not sure if they are specifying only 2 channel or multichannel versions of this file format. However, you can set the audio/video output to PCM and let the AVR decode the files.

Thanks for the reply.

I had email contact with WD Support. They say that multichannel WAV/FLAC is not supported by this device.
