Has any one seen this movie yet?I'm showing long waits on netflix so people must be enjoying it.I don't have too much faith in the story but am looking for similar LFE to the first movie.

no Tom Cruise = better movie

the first one was bad enough, a second b movie version would be horrible

This isn't part 2 to the Tom Cruse story, it's part 2 to the other WoTW that was also released in 2005 starting C. Thomas Howell. In fact, this one is directed by Howell. This other WoTW had awful CGI graphics for the Mars machines, however, I thought the story was better than the Cruise one.

A friend of mine has seen it and he said it was the worse movie he'd seen in quite some time if not ever.

I passed by this one in Blockbuster the other night and said to myself, huh??

As already pointed out, this is not the sequel to the Tom Cruise big budget flick, this one looked downright scary (if only by traditional awful movie standards).

I saw the C. Thomas Howell version. IIRC, it was basically a made for tv (or cable tv) movie. It was a bit cheesy at times, but I remember enjoying the story overall. And even with the bad acting, cinematography, and cgi effects, I think it was overall a better version of the story than the Tom Cruise big studio release.

Never heard of the sequel til I saw this thread and I really wouldn't expect much from it.

Sounds great! That means it will make its way to cable very quickly and I'll watch it then.

I didn't care for the recent Tom Cruise version. While I'm not overly critical like a movie critic, I did think the plot was kind of weird because they didn't really explain anything and then all of sudden all the alien invaders just died (and there was a tiny mention that it was a simple virus that did them in). Maybe I just need to watch it again and pay attention this time.

I think I'd rather listen to Jeff Wayne's Music version than see the original movie. As for the sequel, I'd likely rather cut my toenails. Here's my rating systems:

1. Gotta see it in the theater!
2. That's going to the top of my Netflix list
3. Hm... maybe I'll stick it in my queue
4. Whenever it hits cable I'll check it out
5. Hey, I remember that movie from XX years ago - It's finally made it to network TV at 3am - maybe I'll check it out
6. I'd rather empty the dishwasher and change my son's diaper

Good eye I almost rented it just by the cover,title.I bet there are more then a few angry people out there that just happy clicked on the title expecting a bass fest of the Spielberg WoTW.I guess I'll try Alien vs Predator 2,there's got to be some decent bass there.
