My system -
Receiver: Denon 4520
Mains: Paradigm reference 100 V5
Center/Rears: Paradigm 450/Some Polk towers I just have back there for fill
Subwoofer: Seaton Submersive HP

Want to get back into Vinyl but wanted to know what challenges I have with getting a turntable that can handle the vibrations of today's subs? Is this an issue?

I would like to position the turntable next to my Receiver on the table below my TV, but this table is bookended by the Paradigms and within 5 feet of the Seaton.

Also, what is a good/great turntable to begin my journey with? Have been looking at a 1000 pricepoint +/-... My experience is oldschool (Technics 1200, Thorens etc...but dont have one anymore) :-(

Check out the Auralex website, they have some options.

Ideally, you want to isolate the turntable from the sub. However, my turntable is located between 3' and 4' from my speakers and add another foot to my sub. I haven't had any vibration experience with it. I rarely use the sub however when listening to vinyl so maybe that's why I didn't encounter any problems yet.

What is your budget for a turntable? There are many who poo-poo the new entry level tables but I believe their tonearms to be far superior than of the older turntables such as the Technics. That's been my experience. YMMV.

Follow the link to see how I have it layed out..

Look in the link in my sig, the system with the black turn table, the subs are less than a foot away and I don't have any issues, but I mounted the subs on sand filled cast iron stands which may be helping... I would not try to fix a problem that you don't have yet, set it up in your ideal location and see how it goes, if it is an issue, then visit the idea of isolating it and fixing the issues... Some times its as easy as putting some isolation blocks under the turntable...

Thanks guys. I wanted to know if you all were using subs while listening to vinyl mainly - I will simply buy and try and deal with any issues with vibration if they crop up...

My budget - I would like to stay around 1,000 but could encounter "scope creep" in my plans during my research. As usual.

One possible hurdle with using a sub and a turntable is "rumble". Some subs have a "rumble filter", like my Rythmik does. However, I have the rumble filter deactivated and have never had a problem with it and my TT.

I would say it is a slim chance of a problem, but a chance none the less. 3db and IMC didn't mention it, probably because they never heard the problem.

But, just be aware of the possibility.

I did a quick googel for best turntables under a $1000 and I got this
