Want to connect my MP3 to my amplifier...

Hello guys, I'd like to connect my MP3 player to my amplifier, gear is as follows...

-Rotel RA-04 Amplifier
-Sandisk Sanza Fuze Mp3 Player

The amplifier has a 'Media Player' 3.5mm jack, so all I need it a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable right? If so I want to know what a decent cable is, can I get good sound from a budget price etc (or is there ridiculous marketing and pricing like many speaker cables...).

I will be purchasing from somewhere like Amazon.co.uk most likely (unless I am advised to go somewhere specific), thanks in advance...

Most home stereos use RCA jacks for line-level inputs. In which case you need a stereo 3.5mm to RCA plug cable, which looks like these : http://www.thecellshop.net/Shop/Control/Product/fp/SFV/31796/vpid/6712091/vpcsid/0/rid/126605

But, if your home stereo unit does indeed use a 3.5mm stereo mini plug as an input, then your original statement is correct.

In either case, you don't need to spend a fortune to get good sound.

Thanks, and yeah I checked my amp manual and I can use a 3.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack, is there any particular brand I should look out for? If not I'll just grab something cheap that has a solid review from Amazon.

Personally, I see these as pretty much a commodity since the overall sound quaity is determined by the MP3 player, not the cables.
