Want a new cellphone

Notice I didn't say need.;) I really want bluetooth capabilities and a phone that is a little easier to check emails with, browsing the web would be a big plus. Right now I have a Samsung SPH-A840 and I'm stuck with Sprint for another year.

I'm looking at the Blackberry 7130e but never had a smartphone before, are they worth it for the casual user, i.e. not needed for work?

Has anyone bought a phone off ebay and used it with their existing carrier?

I have a Motorola Q and I hate it. It has tons of features and gismos but it doesnt do any one thing real well. It freezes up (have to remove the batt.) about twice a day. Sorry I cant help you with a good phone to get, just one not to get.

CNET didn't give it a great review either. I'm just looking right now, I may just wait till August when the Iphone comes out and switch carriers while I'm at it.

YUCK! Blackberry

Just what I need (NOT). Another damn way for the boss to get in touch with me. I've been refusing to carry a Blackberry 7520 just for that reason. Besides, it Nextel.......................Double YUCK.

Check out MotoMing from Motorola, it has most of the Blackberry features at a fraction of price and best of all, unlike the slow Symbian OS which is common in all phones and is Java based, MotoMing runs Linux which makes everything way faster and no hangs, even the boot time and switch between app time is fast. If price is no object, go to SONY's 990i, has everything but the kitchen sink.

I've got a Nokia 3650 that's probably 4 years old. It's the best phone I've used to date. I've got T-Mobile, and pay $59 a month for 3000 regional minutes - great plan for my job. I've dropped this phone off a few roofs, and it's stayed together without a hitch. I don't know what type of phones Nokia has out now, but I'm sold on thier reliability. The battery life is excellent, and the picture/video is decent quality. It has a bunch of options and was the phone to have back in its day.

It's a dinosaur, but a great phone nonetheless. Just thought I'd share with you since everyone else I know seems to update phones yearly.

I switched from nokia to a sony p800 about 5 years ago ... its still going strong but like buckeye, most my previous nokia phones have been dropped down a flight of stairs and hitting every other step, plus been drenched in water and still come out working :) after my p800 dies, I'm going back to nokia.

I just got my first cell phone. It's a Motorola KRZR from Verizon. I'm loving it so far. It will do everything you want.

I have been using the Sprint PCS-6700 for a couple of days now. It is more a pocket PC with phone capabilties is a way I would characterise it. but I can check email (work and hotmail), rest of PDA functions (contacts, calendar, etc.) and surf the web - i.e. check Audioholics any time :D

I really like it, especially as I am becoming more familar with it.

BLuetooth headset is next. Oh, and the slideout qwerty keyboard is really nice!

iPhone hasn't got any nice review so far. I'd recommend Nokia N95 or the new communicator Nokia 9500. I am using N-80 and i love it so far. I have been a Nokia fan since i first got my cellphone. They all have wi-fi and bluetooth (which is i think come in all the newest phone). The reason i love wifi is that i can use VOIP which is super cheap or check my emails whenever i am in the hotspot or my WLAN.

Phone is decent, but not as good as the LG flip phone I just got rid of. The mic is actually on the bottom of the phone, so it picks up a lot of ambient noise.

You said you haven't used it with a bluetooth device yet?

Bluetooth headset is on order from Newegg. I got the Plantronics 510. Not the sexist, but got 4.5 stars on amazon from something like 947 reviews.

Agreed. I've almost deleted this thread out of hand like, 5 times. Each time, right before I hit "delete" I notice the author.
