Wall mounting a 42" LCD with a long armed mount

The wife and I are about to close on a condo with a not-so-hot-for-big-screens floorplan. See Below:

What I want to do is get a wall mount with a big arm on it that brings the TV closer and straightens out the 45* angle that it would be at normally. The tv would also be viewable from the kitchen and other places when swiveled in those directions.

Does anyone have any experience with good wall mounts that extend the TV at least 30".

We will be filling a large whole that the TV is in in the pic below. (THis is not our condo, just an example) therefore we can add triple studs or what ever is necessary for mounting the tv.

Any ideas???

It looks like a surround sound system is going to be pretty difficult to pull off in that setup. You might want to buy a display with built-in speakers and settle for stereo. Maybe you could do something with Mirage Nanostats because they have omni-directional 360 degree radiating speakers which might mitigate placement problems a little. Maybe you could hook up a subwoofer for some bass.

I agree those room dimensions are going to play havoc on a good surround sound setup. Maybe that's not a big concern for you, but the above linked mounts should get your display where you're shooting for. :)
