Need some ideas for wall mount speakers for my surround back channels. I would like them to be somewhat shallow as my sofa sits against the back wall. So the speakers are going to be relatively close above the sofa and our heads. I don't want to do in-walls because I am adding on to the front of my house soon and I will be changing the HT setup after that. Any ideas guys?

What mains, and center channel speakers do you have? Sounds like Di-pole surrounds would be for you.

I am using Mirage M3si's for mains and a Klipsch KSC-C1 for center (Not sure how much I like it anymore)

I use these to mount my surrounds to the wall. My surrounds have the following physical specs;

Size (W x H x D)
Millimeters 165 x327 x 244 mm
Inches 7 x 13 3/8 x 9 5/8"
Net Weight
Kilograms 5.5 kg /each
Pounds 12 lb /each

5.1 or 7.1 system?

You need room behind the listening position to take full advantage of a 7.1 configuration. Consider sticking with a 5.1 configuration with (side) surround channels until you finish upgrading the house and change the HT location. At that point you can buy rear surround speakers that work best with the rest of the system and have less mounting restrictions.
