Wall mount a Kicker CVT COMPVT10?

Hi:

I'm new and trying to construct my first man cave home entertainment. My brother in law is telling me that I can take this speaker and mount it in the wall and that can work. I have read that the boxes for these subs actually need to be airtight and the size is somewhat calculated as to control distortion. While I see his point in that the wall has no holes or cracks so I can see the sub being able to build up pressure, I worry that with the unknown size it will lead to less than optimal performance. I'm not looking for the worlds best audio here, but, is there any hope for this setup?

Thanks in advance.

If you ripped the wall open and tried sealing the area around the box to around the recommended amount then red dry walled. But the box sizei s gonna definitely not be near the recommended. Could get a lil tricky I wish I had more help for you but best and easiest I think if you did a sealed box. If you look at in walls sub they are pricey it seems cause the wall is a hard spot for subs

If you mount a sub directly into a wall, it would likely rip the drywall to pieces where you screwed it in. You need to build a box out of wood in the wall.
