Waiting on the 42" LCD

Just spoke with sales associate from highend audio/video shop who just got back from Sony's dealer meeting. LCD w/ 1080p is here. More to come
later this spring---price is getting down in the 5k range also. He advises that unless I gotta have it now--to hold off till July/ Aug. TV viewing will become minimal anyway with spring and summer just around the corner--so I am gonna wait----football season is when I really want it.

Sharp has a 45" and Samsung has a 46" LCD sets that display 1080P and they've been out for a few months. BTW, the Sony and Samsung larger panels will be made in the same factory in S. Korea. Like BMXTRIX has pointed out none of these sets will ACCEPT a 1080P input. Only 1080i and they deinterlace the images at the set. Not sure why they don't accept a 1080P impage.
