Anyone like Waffle House? Right now it is the middle of the night, and for some strange reason, I'm craving for hash browns and toast from Waffle House...

Man, those hash browns are goooooooood. But so are the waffles, but I'm not really into sweets in the early morning.

Never eaten at waffle house before, Im an IHOP guy, the Waffle House here in town is shut down every other month for health violations, so its pushed me away from all of them.

IHOP, Waffle House, same thing. As long as there is a decent 24 hour diner that serves good hash browns and toast, I'm all for it. :D

Man, I still crave those hash browns. Am I a hash brown-holic?

I eat waffles about once every 2 years.

I really fell in love with Waffle House was back when I stayed over at a motel for a couple of nights, and in the middle of the night, when all other eateries were closed, I just drove randomly on the highway, and lo and behold, I saw those big bright yellow signs. And a couple of orders of hash browns (yes a couple of orders) and toast later, I was in love with the place.

Kept going back for the rest of my stay.

There is just something homey about a place that stays open into the early hours of the morning, ready to serve you warm breakfast food, whenever you happen to drop by (sure beats cooking breakfast myself...). ;)

So what are your guys' favorite breakfast items?

Eggs
Hashbrowns
Toast
Sausages
Grits
Waffles
Pancakes
etc.

Once upon a time I really liked sausages, whether it be sausage patties or link sausages. But once I went this all you can eat place and had like 30 link sausages, ever since I have avoided sausages of any kind whenever possible. :(

It depends. When I'm at home, I'm a cereal hound. I LOVE the stuff. But when I go out, I usually like to get some awesome artery clogging breakfast.

My favorite is from a little restaurant in Olivet, MI. The meal is called the "Ernie Special".

2 eggs any style (mine are always sunny side up)
Toast
Giant pile of hash browns with cheese, onions, green peppers, and ham or bacon (I always go for ham, and they DON'T short you).

Such a good breakfast, though I always find myself needing a nap afterwards.

Hmmm.... Hash browns.... Must have my hash browns.....

Actually those potato tarts are quite good as well. Yummy...

I bought a waffle maker a couple of years ago, at that time waffles was my main course for breakfast, lunch and dinner. But after a while I got lazy making the batter. Haven't used that waffle maker in a while now. Maybe I should unbox it and start making some waffles. Strawberries or blueberries, or ice cream on top? :p

But for whatever reason, the waffles I make never taste as good as the waffles at Waffle House.

Maybe it's in the batter. Mine is probably too thick, or I put too many eggs in it. Oh well, a waffle is a waffle.

I've always been partial to the western omelet. they're delicious AND they always seem to come with all the good sides: hash browns and toast, sometimes some pancakes. of course the toast is only worthwhile if they have the good marmalade packets on the table.

what's everyone's fav marmalade? i've always been partial to the orange
