Wife Acceptance Factor. Completely extraneous factor beyond one's control which many people's system must comply to. My system, thankfully, does not.

W.A.F. is wife approval factor. 99% of women don't give a rip about sound, just how cosmetically pleasing your rig is. They like the little speakers like Bose make and dislike big, ugly, towers or big subwoofers. Some people give into WAF. Not me. Look at the size of my stuff. Audio is my passion. I don't tell her how to decorate the kitchen or the bathroom, leave my home theatre alone. I have one tiny room in the house, she has the rest.

AS for 'chicklets" I am not sure. i always thought it meant teeth. maybe it goes hand in hand with standing up to WAF. Like the expression to "get some balls" might mean to get some teeth or chicklets per se.

I figured it had something to do with the wife. I give in in so many other areas, that I usually win when it comes to the PC or the HT. Besides, I tend not to tell her what stuff costs. I always think about me dying unexpectedly and someone comming to appraise all my electronics. Man would she have a suprise coming.

I even had to add an addition on to my house just so I could spread out my HT and put the wires in the walls. The speakers, well shes gonna have to deal with them.

I thought that those were automatic based on the number of posts you had. If not, how did I get one?

I give them out all the time. Sometimes just for agreeing with me
But for the most part, its just a popularity contest. You would have to read that whole thread. But is over long..........
I actually may have given you one, as long as a person is not being totally negative then I will give one..

Somewhere in that thread, it says the Mods gave everyone some freebies, then took them back, etc... so we all ended up with a few just to get the concept going, and some of the mods got a bunch for being mods. I don't really pay much attention to it, but once in a while I notice that comments pop up in my user CP (annonymous).

If someone makes me laugh, I'll give 'em one just because

BTW, sometimes they will come up purple. What I think happens is that your first approval for a person will come up green. Then if a person approves again on another post you did, it will come up purple. This would be so it limits how much positive 1 person can give another. Say 3 purples = 1 green. However the negative (disapprovals) would work the same way. But the first would be red, then if you are trying to spite a person, then 3 negative purples would equal = 1 red.. Something like this....

I figured that was what that meant. I didn't know what AF was but I knew the W as soon as I saw it somewhere else. One of the most common reasons for returns at my store are because the wife said nah-ah.
