Well, I got my 3.3 early this morning. I was reading my local newspaper and heard what sounded like a truck backing up. I look out my window and there was Fed EX. This meant my 3.3 was here!!!!!!! Heck, it was NOT even 8:00 am but no complaints here. Unfortunately, I was NOT able to mess w/it much due to running some errands that had to be taken care of. This afternoon, I was able to un-box my 3.3 as it came very well packaged. I placed the 3.3 exactly where I had my SVS PB12-NSD. Have not done any calibrating but just used the levels that were set for the PB12-NSD. I removed the port plug, turned the X-over off, set the power to auto, and made sure the 3.3 was set to run in MO mode. I also turned the gain/volume knob up to no more than 1/4-1/3 of the way. I preceded to listen to some of my demo cds and all I can say is : WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right out of the box the 3.3 sounded amazing. In fact, it does as advertised yet I have not even calibrated yet not to mention the gain is not even turned up much. The 3.3 has handled everything I have thrown at it thus far. I can confirm that the 3.3 is extremely musical-tight, punchy, and very articulate. Still grinning from ear to ear. :D:D Thank you Dr. Hsu for designing such a great subwoofer. I also want to thank Peter Marcks and craigsub whom both have given me great advice and input. Oh, I also want to mention that the finish on the 3.3 is very good. The Hsu website does NOT do the 3.3 finish justice. So, if you are on the fence so to speak due to the finish just buy one. You will be glad you did I assure you.

Thanks for the congrats. One 3.3 is awesome so I could not even begin to imagine what two would be like. Since I reside in a mobile home and my neighbors are close by as such it is in my best interest to stay w/one for now. But, you are correct in that it is so much fun!!!!!! :p:p

Congrats on the new sub! By calling it a 3.3 do you mean the VTF-3 MK3? I've got the VTF-3 HO Turbo, and I know how you feel, these subs are bad to the bone. Dr Hsu is a sub expert.

Yes, the 3.3 is the VTF-3 MKIII. Dr. Hsu knows how to build great subs. I wanted an HO but could not afford it. However, the 3.3 is very good and so far I am quite pleased. Thanks for the congrats.

Oh Mike let me just say it is very musical. I just listened to CREED and oh my God is it ever punchy. The kick-drum is so much more pronounced. No more (1) note hit wonder. I am really in awe of the performance. Have reached my limit on pics but I am working on it. Guess it wont be long and you will have your A7-450 right? Be sure to let us know what your initial impressions are. Have a good day my friend.

wait, so you're saying the PB12NSD and PB10NSD sounded like one bass note subs compared to the HSU?

mine ships next week ... plus one month to get to me.

Well, did not mean for it to sound like that. I just believe the NSD drivers are more suited for ht duties is all. If I could have afforded the Ultra 13 it would of been a no brainer for me. However, I like many here, only have so much money to spare. I think what I was alluding to in my earlier post is that the 3.3 is performing much more in the way "I" want it to whereas I never could get that out of the PB10-NSD OR the PB12-NSD. I must say though the PB10 is very impressive for a 10" sub. Likewise, the PB12 impressed me with the visceral impact it brings down deep. It is also my understanding that SVS is improving the PB12-NSD which is supposed to make it more linear. So, for now I am very happy w/the 3.3. There are others whom may draw different conclusions and that is fine by me. To each his own I always say.

Here are a couple more for those who are interested. One thing I would like to mention is that the finish on the 3.3 is actually decent. Or, at least much better than what I thought it would be. Anyways, I hope this can help others here that are seriously thinking about getting a Hsu sub.

Okay here is my last pic for now. I think my 3.3 blends very well w/my Infinity Primus speakers. What do you all think? This is exactly where I had the SVS PB10-NSD and then later the PB12-NSD located. My plan is to place it nearfield directly to my left of my seating position very soon to see if things improve even more. Been very impressed with the performance where it is currently located. Feel free to offer any suggestions and/or ask any questions.
