VTF-3 MK2 at LOW volumes? good, bad, otherwise?

I'm new in this scene and and looking hard at getting this HSU sub. My question pertains to ALL subs really. I see so much about how LOW and/or LOUD a sub can go. how will it perform at low to moderate volume levels??? and is it better at it than other subs, say a axiom ep350, or Rocket UFW-10 ? as my TOP price is @800USD

TIA to all the comment , Peace ;)

I picked up a VTF-3 MK2 about a month ago and it performs great (to my ear) at all volumes. Even at low volume you can still hear and feel the presence of deep bass.

Your :: Current Setup
Fronts: Axiom M60ti
Center: Axiom VP150
Surrounds: Axiom QS8
Sub: HSU VTF-3 MK2
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V2500

this is wild cause this is what I think i want, just what U have, not sure to go with the Axiom m22ti or the m60ti. I am in a place where I can't "audition" anything, so did u consider the m22ti also? and if so what made u pick the m60 ti? how sitisfied are u with your whole setup? anything u would change? and lastly, do u find the m60's to be too forward, or shall I say um.... bright? on the high side., thanks for your reply and hope u see this and can reply again, I appreciate it. anyone else have any commment? please chime in as well. Peace :D

That's great! :D Initially, I did consider the m22's, but after doing a lot of reading on the boards here, I went with the bigger floor standers. I have an fairly large room and its an open air layout so I needed the extra volume. Based on my experience with Axiom, I'd recommend any of their products, and the m22's have gotten excellent reviews.

I've heard some people say the Axiom's are on the bright side, but I find the m60's perfect. Coupled with the HSU sub, its a thing of beauty. I wouldn't change any part of my setup. In fact, if I could do it all over again, I'd get the same thing.

Good luck!

I have the VTF-3 and it does a very good job of filling my 17x25ft room with multiple openings with nice, authoritative bass. I'm getting ready to put it in a 12x13' room and can't wait to "feel" the difference.
