Good Evening....I had posted something here a few weeks back about the differences between FM sound and home recordings. It was my opinion that FM radio has a certain depth and life that CDs and MP3s lack. I do appreciate the many responses to that thread (though the thread disappeared a week later).
Anyway, I was hoping to achieve the "radio sound" with my own music and was given a lot of lessons on music processing and compression and such. Just tonight I did a search on download.com for "music processor" and one of the results is called Volume Logic. It is exclusively for use with iTunes, which is my main source for downloaded music. It more or less compresses the music to keep the sound levels consistent. So, I went ahead and tried using this Volume Logic software and could not believe the difference. I am a child of the 80's and actually have the song "Perfect Way" from Scritti Politti in my iTunes song list. Honestly, it sounded like a different song after the Volume Logic was applied. There was so much more life to the recording and it did sound like it was being played on a radio station.
I don't know exactly how much the software costs, but I'm on the 30-day trial period right now and will probably purchase it, assuming it isn't too expensive.
