Does anyone here use VLC with good results? I'm tired of MS and am looking for a good PC media player. Thanks.

Use MPC-HC. Far superior to any other media player and it has built in decoders and will do DXVA of x264 and VC1. And supposedly is will do DTS-MA and DD-TrueHD, but I haven't played with that aspedct very much as I just ditched my HTPC.

http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/

VLC is nice that it plays everything, but the PQ is not very good as they use very rudimentary processing.

I've never had good luck with VLC. Try XBMC. It uses MPlayer, which I've never had a problem with.

I like VLC, never had a problem with it, and it plays pretty much everything.

I've only used VLC for YEARS. There is no going back.

That said, I don't really like the changes 1.0 brought.
