It's been a long six months since Vizio first announced its CinemaWide HDTV — a set with a unique 21:9 aspect ration, ideally suited for watching widescreen films shot in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Now, the company has finally released the 58-inch giant to the masses: interested consumers can now purchase it for $2499 at Vizio's website. It's sporting a resolution of 2560 x 1080 and, of course, is 3D-capable. Vizio also has some clever trick for utiliznig the extra space when watching 16:9 content — users can pull up a column of Vizio's internet apps on the left side of the screen without obscuring the picture. The rest of the set's specs are unsurprisingly high end: the TV features a contrast ration of 1,000,000 to 1, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 178-degree viewing angle. But let's face it — the real draw here is that unique aspect ratio. Interested parties can now put in an order at Vizio's site.
