If Costco will honor a warranty in Mexico, buy the Vizio from them online. Olevia is hard enough getting customer service when you're here in the US, let alone Mexico. I've owned/bought 4 Olevia's. They're fabulous tv's, and have a great picture, but their customer service blows. I see it as a trade off. The price is so outstanding and the product so great that I will give up service to save the money for a great product. But if I lived in another country and was concerned about service, I'd definitely consider the retail source first. Vizio has pretty good reviews on their products. I don't know if the picture is as sharp, or the controls as "tweakable" as the Olevia's, but I do know you won't have any issues with Costco if you do run into problems with your set. One thing for sure, with an LCD, you'll never have to worry about sunlight glare when watching in a brightly lit room.

I have seen the Olevia 42" in stores only. I do own the Vizio 42" lcd. The colors and blacks are nice on both units. With the Vizio the picture could still be a bit more crisp, it isn't as sharp as other tv's I've seen. For me this was a trade off. I bought mine at Costco for $1300 US. The advantage of Costco is I can return it with no hassles for 6 months or so if I'm not happy.

The other Olevia's I saw had a slightly better picture and a sharper image but were a few hundred more at the stores (they can be found cheaper online). The prices for the olevia fluctuate, but both units are usually somewhat close in price here. I would have bought the Olevia instead of the Vizio if I could have gotten the same return/guarantee with it.

I really don't have anything nice to say about Olevia, my 30" Dell/Olevia LCD manufactured in Mexico is a disaster. I agree if Costco in Mexico will honor the warranty get the Vizio.
