So, I went to the Doc two weeks ago to have a physical (i had not had one in a very long time) and he does his deal (joy and rapture..). He calls me a week later with the results of the blood work. "All the numbers look fantastic" he proclaims, "except your vitamin D is drastically low." So I was to start taking 1000IU of a vitamin D supplement and come back after 4 months for a follow up on the blood work to see if the levels had improved. "No big deal" I think to myself...

Out of curiosity I looked into side effects of having low vitamin D, well, grumpiness and sore muscles and joints among many other things. I started taking the supplement about a week ago and i am amazed at how better i feel, I feel like a new person (almost). I had no idea...

Ok, everyone back in the pool.:D

Very typical after winter - Not much sun = not much Vit. D processed. Typically Docs prescribe D in much larger concentration than OTC

That's awesome. Magnesium does the same sort of thing. I feel like a different person.

Did you guys request specific blood work, or was it just part of the physical?

In Utah , you have to request it. Our insurance doesn't cover it as 100% preventative. So, you have to pony up. most people have D deficiencies (sp). i take a 5,000 IU supplement.

It helps the body in many, many ways.

I just went in for yearly physical and they did a complete blood work along with the rest of the exam. Our insurance pays 100% for a yearly physical to encourage yearly visits....
