That is hardly a reasonable comparison, since it is not widescreen. To show a movie the same size as on a 36" widescreen, a 4:3 TV would hve to be 40", something that does not exist in a tube.
Kind of a silly thread any how. Get the bigscreen and then use the wifes visa to get the decent sound system. How is that for advice?

You are suggesting that there were 40" tubes at one time? I never heard of such a beast!:eek: Sheesh, my 34" (widescreen) tube weighs 200 lb!
I remember Toshiba had a 40" tube set, as well as RCA's past Proscan series did as well (300 pounds or more easily, consule set). I my parents have that set sitting in their living room. It's broken, and they don't know what to do with it or how to get rid of it.:D
