Vinyl and vintage

We seem to be getting more and more interest in vinyl. I think we should have a forum related to LP reproduction. I think it should also include vintage audio and audio history, but may be those should be on a separate forum.

What do other members think?

I personally am interested in Vinyl for one and only reason - older, out of print titles that have never been mastered to CD. I buy them and record them myself.

A Vinyl focused forum would be an interesting read but I'd have nothing to contribute in most cases.

I like the idea. I have a turntable too with a few vinyl records. The ones I have though have primarily been acquired at thrift stores or yard sales. I like the warmth (sound) of vinyl LPs compared to digital. So does my wife.

Normally I would say just put it in the sources forum, but, since Vinyl is such a different animal I agree that it's worth having it's own forum.

I would participate. I own two Technics 1210s and hundreds of records. Of course, it's all back home collecting dust.

Not a bad idea at all - I think this forum has enough members who have a fondness for vinyl and vintage recordings. I myself am not one of them so I too wouldn't have a lot to contribute, but I do see the merit in the topic having its own place here.

Well there is some interest. I think this forum would attract knowledgeable members. We seem to have a lot of blast and thump on these forums. "We like lotsa Bass!" The what would be better this O, D or Y receiver would be best are really monotonous. The answer is what ever they have for sale is the best; it always is!

I would like to see an AH "spin" on vinyl and the related equipment. From what I've seen around stores and the web there seems to be a lot of snake oil. I wouldn't really get involved in the threads though.
