Vintage Sansui Eight-Deluxe receiver and Dual 1229 turntable as source for digitizing my vinyl.

My Sansui 8 Deluxe has a removable connector on the back panel that bridges the pre-amp out and the main amp in. Does the pre-amp out qualify as a "line-level" signal similar to that produced by current technology turntables with a pre-amp for digitization setups? Can I combine the left and right pre-amp out channels into an RCA connector to feed into a PC digitization setup? Can I split the left and right pre-amp outputs and send them both to the digitization setup and the main amp on the Sansui? I definitely don't want to risk the Sansui receiver.

Sansui 8 Deluxe PRE Amp section specs: Rated output: 0,8V; Maximum output :3VTHD :< 0,1% (rated output); Frequency response :10Hz...40Khz (±1dB); Channel separation :> 60dB (lines, 10kOhm, 1Khz); S/N ratio :> 70dB (phono 1 & 2, IHF)> 80dB (lines, IHF); Inputs: 2mV / 50kOhm (phono 1 & 2) 180mV / 50kOhm (aux, tape RCA, tape DIN); Outputs:180mV (tape RCA) 30mV (tape DIN) Phono EQ :RIAA NF type; Loudness switch :+8dB @ 50Hz / +3dB @ 10KhzLow filter :-10dB @ 50Hz (12dB/octave); High filter :-10dB @ 10Khz (12dB/octave)

A line-level output is a fixed-signal output. The pre-amp output level is variable via the main volume control. So no, technically the pre-amp outputs don’t qualify for your application (although they could be used if nothing else was available).

What you want to use is the Tape Mon output for digitizing. It’s a line level output.
