So I pulled my Pioneer PD-M6 six CD player out of the attic this morning to see if I could set it up with my current system. Plugged in and turned it on and get no lights, no button responses; just a steady clicking like a relay or something, about 2-3 clicks per second. It was pretty cold in the attic, below the operating temp listed in the instruction manual, so I 'm letting it warm to room temp before trying it again. Doesn't seem like the CD transport mechanism is the problem since I get no indication of power anywhere on the front panel. If anyone has an idea, would love to hear it before I tear into it. I'm downloading the service manual right now but I'm not sure what to look for. I remember it worked fine when I put it in the attic about 15 years ago.
