Vintage JBL networks gone bad.

Salutations! just signed up and am thrilled at the prospect of getting some sage advice and opinions from the experts! I'm just gonna jump right in with a question about the crossover networks in my JBL 4301B monitors- they both seem to have died  I'm assuming they have 'cause I know the tweeters are operable- (tested them) the main speakers work OK too. I have a line on a replacement pair of networks, not too expensive - it seems like a no-brainer. Should I just install the replacements and hope for the best? I had one replaced like 4 years ago, along with new foams on the woofers, etc. I just brought 'em home hooked 'em up -they were fine, but now that I've opened them up myself I think the tech guy was on something- loose and stripped screws, wires stripped and joined together only with electrical tape, plus to add insult -part of a wrapper from a Snickers bar left inside..c'mon! I'm not naming names, but it's not a rinky-dink place, or so I thought... Any thoughts on the matter, anyone??

might not need to replace the whole XO... just the caps might do the trick.

If those 4301s sound anything like the 4311s, I really hope you can get those going. The 4311 is on my short list as one of the best sounding speakers I've ever listened too, wish I could have afforded them way back then.
