anyone with experience with Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand and/or Beethoven Baby Grand speakers, please share your experience, positive and negative. likes/dislikes, etc.

i was listening to them today and they sounded rich, warm and had good bass and clarity. an overall nice balance, but it was a short listening session with my 2 kids wrestling in the showroom.

Very nice sound, but I think the phrase "vice grip sweet spot" was written for Vienna Acoustics speakers. If you like great imaging but a VERY narrow soundstage, they may be the speakers for you. Personally I prefer Mirage, which is pretty much the exact opposite. Somewhat diffuse imaging, but the soundstage is a mile wide.

The Vienna Acoustics Mozart and Beethoven speakers, which were the direct predecessors to the current Mozart Grand and Beethoven Grand, were two speakers I looked at very closely two years ago.

I found the Vienna's sound to be smooth, detailed without being hyped, rhythmic and musical, with decent dynamics, and very good tumbrel accuracy. I had just seen Holly Cole in concert, in an intimate setting, and was listening to every speaker I could get my hands on with her album "Blame It On My Youth". I can only say that the Vienna speakers were the most accurate at recreating the sound I'd heard live... that would include listening to Martin-Logan, M&K, Klipsch, Boston Acoustics, Linn, Rega, B&W, Paradigm, Definitive Technology, Mirage, JBL, MB Quart, Monitor Audio, Snell, and Wharfedale.

I'm not saying that other speakers, or even those I've listed above aren't better in some respects... but the Vienna Acoustics and the Sonas Faber line were the two that really grabbed my attention.

I really like the Vienna Acoustics that I listened to (Beethovens). They had a very nice balance, but they lacked the clarity of the AVI Duos that I listened to at the same store. On the flipside, their bass extension was much much better than the Duos.
