I would like to know what you guys think of this - and price is a bit of an issue.

I have the choice of the following two setups.
Front - Mythos One = 400 $ each (New In box)
Center - Mythos 3 = 200 $ each (New In box)
Surround - Klipsch SLX (my old speakers.)

ALREADY have the following
Receiver KH 635

Sub : Klipsch rsw10

Now - after making the mythos one purchase i wandered off into the dealers show again and found the
vienna accoustics - schonberg - FLOOR MODEL - 600 $ each
Vienna accoustics - Weber - FLOOR MODELS - 300 $ each

NOw if I go with the vienna accoustics - would I see a big jump in peformance?

MOST IMP - if I jsut get the schonberg as main and one center Weber - would they peform well with klipsch slx?
Thank you guys.

Should I change the receiver?
Is there a component that needs to change?

so you can still return the Mythos?

for you to decide

For HT-only, Im not an enormous proponent that speakers must match. However, the "house-sounds" of VA versus Klipsch could be quite different. That being said, it might work fine.

The HK will run the speakers, even though IIRC most VA (if not all) are nominal 4 ohms. This decision is dependent on how loud you like it, the volume of your room, and the distance you sit from speakers, along with the speakers own characteristic load and efficiency.

lastly, fwiw, I am under the impression that VA's Webern/Schoeberg line is not up to snuff in comparison to their more "typical" speakers, ie Haydn, Mozart Grands... however, as you stated money is an issue, these other speakers are quite pricey.

How much savings are applied to those VA speakers? (what are msrp?). I may or may not be inclined to look elsewhere, but maybe you have found bargains. I could see myself being happy with Mozart Grands but I think those might be 3k? not quite sure...

What dealer is this? And where are they located? I've been looking for a dealer that has the schonbergs for audition.

Like everyone else is saying, listen to them and see what you are seeing. What I will tell you is that from my own listening and from what I have read and heard from others that have heard any Vienna Acoustic speakers is that their strength is very based in music. This is not to say that they would not perform admirably in an HT setup, just that they have been described as "a little subdued" in the HT realm. But again, this is my opinion, listen to them, for that price you probably couldn't go wrong :D. Hope this helps.
