I like the 800:1 contrast ratio feature, but I think they could have done a better job to increase the ANSI Lumens from a 1.000 to at least 1.400, giving the consumer a choice of using the projector in a not totally dark room inviroment and still getting a decent picture on the screen.

Do you have an approximate idea what the street price of this projector will be when will hit the dealer shelves?

I have seen the Sanyo PLV-WF10 and am seriously considering that for our living room with it in a fan ventilated enclosure...

4000 lumens - after calibration
900:1 Contrast
$12,995 MSRP - A lot less on the street.

It is a loud projector though and either must be rear projection or in a separate room (movie theater style) for front projection. But, there are many lenses available for it.

Plus it is a 2 bulb model, so if you don't need the lumens, you can run just one bulb and have one spare, in the projector, ready to go at all times.

Will look forward to reading some reviews on the Vidkron though.

Agree with you BMX, Sanyo puts out an array of multimedia LCD Projectors with mouthwatering features like the Sanyo PLC-XP55 which sells by B&H Photo in New York City for $ 5.399.95.

I had seen this projector in Vegas at the Expo and I was told by a company rep. that Sanyo is one the largest manufacturer of LCD Projectors and Panels for Plasma TVs.

The PLC-XP55 sports an XGA resolution - 4.500 ANSI Lumens and a whopping 1.100:1 contrast ratio, producing a brilliant picture even when all the lights in the room are on . I guess it's time for me to give away my 50" Sony Plasma HDTV to my daughter which I have had for almost 5 years now and still working good , for one of these new projectors installed on the ceiling in the multimedia Room with a 16:9 ratio fixed screen on the wall.
