Vidikron 30: installed new lamp but cuts off after 3 hours

Is there any one who have any insight on what might cause my projector to shut down (lamp turns off) after 3 hours of viewing? i recently bought a projector lamp and installed it myself taking all precautions of no contact with the lens and housing of the lamp itself to not cause any problems due to oil from hands. Upon first viewing the projector worked fine then it shut down again which eliminates the bad lamp theory. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

You probably need to reset your lamp timer.

Unfortunately I do not know how to get into the configuration menus. I do nt have the password that give me access. Is there a way to set it back to a default setting so I can start over again from scretch? again any advice is appreciated....

I'm sure if you contact Vidikron tech support they can be of more specific help. Also reference any manuals you have.

Check the manual for lamp replacement. Usually, that will tell you how to reset it. If all else fails, call Vidikron

Yeah that sounds like a good idea...the projector was a demo so I believe the merchant applied a passcode for this menu. I will try this, thanks everyone for your help.
