Video Projector Image Problem

I have a Cinego projector (with built in DVD) attached to my satellite box using a S-Video cable. The Cinego does not have a S-Video input so they supply an adapter.
The problem is when trying to watch something from the sat receiver, the image has a moving black bar that extends diagonal across the screen and moves from the lower left corner to the upper right corner.
Watching DVD's direct from projector is fine.
I suspect that it has something to do with the adapter but this is only a quess.
Any suggestions or insight will move the supplier of same one step closer to sainthood.

What happens if you forego the s-video adapter and go straight composite (yellow cable) to composite from the box to pj?

Thanks for the reply. The composite (yellow) cable does work better than the S-video but the composite cable is only 8 feet long. The S-video is 30 feet long, which is what I need to have for the placement of the pj. Maybe I should try a longer composite cable.

If your projector works better with the composite(yellow) video better than the S-video, get it in a longer cable. Problem solved.:D
Monoprice should have what you need. Or, you can adapt an RG-type cable Tv cable with RCA adapters and use that
