Feel free to move it to a more suitable place.
Lately I see more and more media players with improved processing abilities.
A friend of mine has a wide experience with CD digital sources of good quality
Now he is using
a media player as digital source , the Popcorn C-200, feeding a high quality external dac from Ps Audio
Dac quality apart he is convinced that the spdif out of the Pop is of a remarkable quality (anyway not so the analogue outputs)
For instance better than his previous and costly CD Player, an about 2.000 USD unit
So my questions are:
1) Is anyone currently using a media player as AV source ?
2) are there any models in the market that can be a good basis for an AV setup ? even if a external dac is necessary
3) as I already have a Behringer src 2496 dac at hand, how do you rate it ?
Personally I think that it should be better than those ones embedded in the players.
