I am trying to calibrate my Toshiba 27" Flatscreen CRT tv using the Digital Video Essentials Disc. My DVD player is a Yamaha DVD C920 using a component hook-up directly to the tv.
Problem is when trying to calibrate using the test patterns my tv controls do not seem to do anything. Only one that seems to work half decent is brightness. The other adjustments color, tint, contrast do not seem to change as I raise and lower them. I cannot get the contrast pattern to bloom and the color and tint will not dramaticaly change either. I definately cannot get them to blend in through the filters as they suggest in the directions. I had this same problem when setting tint and contrast using the Sound & Vision home theatre tune up.
I think the problem might be in the component hook up and am considering swithching set up to analog. I have only ever had the DVD hooked up by component and experienced the same problem on both test discs.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
