Video Calibration Menu: DVD Player or TV for best performance?

I'm a newcomer to the home theater world and need some advice.

I have both the AVIA and the Video Essentials test disc and am currently calibrating my system.

My question is this. I have the Oppo OPDV971H dvd player and the Panasonic 50" TH-50PX500U plasma. Both have video adjustment menus. When I am running video calibrations from these test discs, is it better to adjust the levels on the DVD player or the TV when calibrating settings for movie watching.

Obviously for standard tv or HD, I have created separating saved settings on the Panasonic but to watch dvds, do I use the Oppo's video adjustment menu or the Panasonic's for the best performance?

Thanks, JR

was wondering....

I also have the the Oppo DVD player and love it, and also have a Panasonic TV but only the 42 EDTV. I was wondering in black and blue scenes, like there are allot in DOOM or any movie where it is night and around water, it gets really distorted and blurry. I have fooled with the settings. I have not got those calabration DVDs yet, just found out about them a few days ago. Anyway will get those dvds to calabrate soon, was just wondering if you had a simalar issue?

Thanks
