Another small question from a new member: I was sold Monster Interlink Datalink 100 ( digital)as an appropriate (RCA) cable. Since the packing does not specifically say "video cable"-- is it a poor choice?

Also, I just picked up a Maxell Advanced Hi-Fi tape for my vcr , the box lists numerous specs compared to their high grade tape--any opinions?

Sony Wega 27" TV ( the s-video input is used for my DVD player)
Sony SLV-N71 VCR (RCA jacks)

Ok take the monster cable back save some money and just go get a decent quality 75ohm RCA cable. Monster cable is good, but extremely over priced, your paying for the name brand, not the quality there. On the video tape, I'm sure there is a difference, but at the quality that a video tape records at its probably a negligible difference between any video tape. Ive never been able to tell from tape to tape, the biggest difference I've seen is the actualy VCR doing the recording.

Thanks! Too late to return the Monster cable. I am trying Maxell Advanced Hi-Fi vhs tape. Their website lists several more "specs" for this compared to their other tapes, I have no opinions yet

thats a shame about not being able to take it back, but its a quality wire, just overpriced. Hope the tape works well for your recordings.
