Very tempted right now! Sony full starter kit deal

There's an awesome (locally) deal at one of the big retail chains around here. $800 gets you:

Sony STR-DE497B (?) 5.1 A/V Receiver (DD, DTS) 80w x 5
Sony DVP-NS575P (?) DVD player
Sony SS-MF650H 3-way, 4-driver Floorstanders 89db, 8ohm
Sony SS-CR350H Centre/Rear speaker package (4 3/4" x 2 Centre + 1" tweeter, 4 3/4" Rears) 88db, 8ohm
Sony SA-WM500 150W 12" Subwoofer

I'm not sure if the receiver and DVD player are those exact models as they only list specs, but these ones match them precisely. The speakers I've identified from the picture - I can't find much on the receiver which seems a bit weak, but the speakers and sub are getting great reviews. Looks like a decent starter kit, I'm very tempted to go get it and just upgrade the receiver later.

While I certainly understand how tempting a good deal can be, I also understand the crushing affects of buyer’s remorse. I can't count the number of times I've purchased a piece of equipment because it was a "good deal" just to regret it days/weeks/months later. Then I'm stuck with a piece of equipment that I hate and, had I waited, I would have purchased a much better piece of equipment that would have lasted be much longer. So, then I'm on the look out to upgrade the crap I just bought until I catch wind of a deal and..............a vicious circle for sure.

This is not a comment on the equipment you listed, I know nothing about it. It is a warning about the lure of the sales price. Remember, it's only a matter of time before it goes on sale again.
