Even though it would put you the short way in the room, I'd suggest mounting things on the right wall of the room (turn things 90 degrees) to open up space on either side and have things much more symmetric.
Is there a middle ground between the teenie speakers and the full size towers (that are going to get cut off to go to the sub anyway)? I think maybe something more like 6.5" 2 way monitors would be the best solution in that space.

Bryan, as the lead designer of GIK acoustics, I definitely would consider any of your recommendations.
The wall opposing the bed (not pictured in the rendering) has a huge closet that takes up 70% of the wall. So the furniture has to stay in it's place. So I will have to make some compromises with the audio to work around the furniture placement.
As far as bookshelves, I've strongly considered that possibility, however, since the placement of smaller bookshelves will be similar to the towers, won't that suffer from similar pitfalls?
All things considered, what do you (or anyone else) recommend in MY bedroom? At one point, I was considering installing a set of Magnepan MMGW's since they're all mountned on either side of the SIDE WALLS. Only problem is, the bed is skewed toward the left speaker.
3-D Rendering
Since the MMGW's were designed to be wall mounted, I assume that solves the problem with the close proximity to the wall, right? With this setup, I'm just concerned the imaging when watching movies will be slightly off since I'll be sitting (laying) off-axis, since the sweetspot will be between the desk and the bed. Also, I'm worried how dialogue will sound with a phantom center setup, and my listening position is skewed toward the left speaker.
