Velodyne vs svs, hsu, axiom, rbh, etc.

I am sure the price is insane on the velodyne but how do other brand's subs compare to ones like the Digital Drive 1812 http://www.velodyne.com/products/product.aspx?ID=3&sid=435i159j

I don't intend on purchasing it, just looking at the specs on the thing....

I am sure the 4 driver sub from SVS would have blown it away lol

lol, I doubt that. At 15,000 and 400 pounds I doubt the 200 pound svsound sub can match it.

the old plus drivers don't have the same good FR and THD test results as the new Ultra driver.

I have always wondered what that sounds like, my dealer has one set up but I have never listened to it. I try to stay out of the room were he displays this as I can't afford anything in that one room!

i'm sure it's nothing dual DD18's can't beat.
or for the price, 4-5 DD18's.

Velodynes were the first brand of subwoofer I looked at but my local dealer didn't have an 1812. He had a SPL12 and a 10. It really didn't matter what they sounded like anyway because I couldn't pay their prices. Internet direct was a no brainer for me.
