The output from this device is a little boomy in the bottom end, but, overall, it is not to bad. It lacks definition in the lower octaves but this is true of most long throw drivers. Overall the sound is quite good and it can deliver bass that can be felt.
The DPS-12 has a number of very nice features. It has both anti clipping circuitry and overdrive protection, which prevents it from being damaged by an over enthusiastic owner.
It also has a fully defeatable crossover with a direct setting, which is what it should be set to if you have a digital receiver. It can also accept both line level and speaker level inputs. The DSP-12, like most Velodyne products, is DSP controlled to lower distortion and provide a better sound. The fit and finish, as on most Velodyne products, is outstanding.
