Velodyne Increases Product Warranties

Velodyne recently extended its warranty for drivers, amplifiers and related electronics. The warranty on drivers was extended from two years to five, the warranty on all amplifiers and electronics has been extended from two years to three years. Velodyne decided to offer this longer product warranty based in part on demonstrated results of MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) torture testing that has yielded parts and design improvements.

I find Velodyne's logic about extending these warranties interesting.

So basically, they figured out that it wouldn't cost them anything to extend these warranties as they probably won't break during the additional time.
